Softchaos is a performance project created by artist and musician Teresa Stout, traversing the intersections of popular music and performance art.
their percussion-heavy sets draw from the black roots of electronic sound to question the boundaries of musical styles and highlight radical sound politics while infusing the energy of sample-based electronic music, techno and rhythm and bass into other genres that are genealogically connected.
They hold a residency on Oroko Radio, and host Black Rhizome, a show that platforms multidisciplinary artists across diaspora.
softchaos is also co-director of TORO, an arts collective, acting as co-curator and creative director, alongside Engalanan and Wicboyx.
