If you’d asked The Covasettes when they first met at uni what they’d expect to be doing in 2024, they could never have predicted what was to come. Fast forward to today and the lads have quite the list of achievements under their belt: sold-out shows across the country, over 8 million streams, and stealing the show at UK festivals and beyond, just to name a few. They’re continually blown away by how many milestones they’ve passed in just a few years of making music. Most notably including a main stage performance at Truck Festival, sharing the stage with Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines, The Sherlocks, Zuzu, The Hara, and more; national radio play on Radio 1, Radio XS and BBC Introducing; and making it on the reputable Spotify Indie List.
The Covasettes’ time spent living together in Manchester allowed them to hone in on their signature indie sound comprising frontman Chris Buxton’s heartfelt lyrics and melody, guitarist Matt Hewlett’s infectious riffs, drummer Matt Buckley’s rock-inspired grooves and bassist/producer Jamie McIntyre’s pop production sensibilities. Their upcoming tour is selling out fast and promises to deliver their best live shows to date thanks to a run of festivals in the UK including Truck, Tramlines and YNot as well as the band’s first European festival in the Netherlands.
Chris from the band said the following about their most recent release "One Tear at a Time" - “It’s a song about the whirlwind of emotions after having a break up, trying to find your new normal and working through it all bit by bit, or as I would say, one tear at a time.
It wasn’t our choice to release One Tear At A Time, we were forced to by the sheer amount of messages we had from people who had bought our vinyl after they heard it as the bonus track.
