Impossible Island #01 with Werkha / Babe / MR TC
All There Is?’ presents ‘Impossible Island #01’
Join us for a night exploring the border crossing between live music and dance music. We’ve been sourcing the finest groove merchants and beat makers from Glasgow and beyond in our mission to bring you a late night feast for ears and eyes alike.
Joining us in the ring for round 1 are:
BABE – Armed with a creamy falsetto that could stun a moose at ten metres and an enviably good ear for slow jams, Gerard Black is a longstanding member of Glasgow’s illustrious music scene.
Their recently released sophomore record was released earlier this year. According to Gold Flake Paint ‘the band have got closer than ever before to replicating the measured, exquisite joy that live on-stage presence so brilliantly exudes’.
WERKHA – Good things to come out of Manchester: Mr Scruff, The Curry Mile and the singular, genre-defying talent that is Tom Leah. Taken under Giles Peterson’s wing early on, Leah’s early releases were branded ‘a challenging, yet intensely satisfying listen’ by Clash magazine.
Since then he’s developed a virtuosic live act, toured with the likes of Chet Faker and Bonobo, and caught the ear of Rob Da Bank, Lauren Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft.
MR TC - Thomas Lea Clarke’s course has been gathering speed and turning heads recently due to a few acclaimed releases through Optimo Music and a stream of inspiring appearances at Night of the Jaguar. A stalwart member of Glasgow’s club scene over the past few years, his enigmatic sound is created through synths, samplers, effects, guitars and drums uniting in a raw, dance hallucination.
