Sports et Divertissements, John Cage’s Radio Music, Rhythmicon

TUT VU VU with David Philip and Ben Ashton
Sports et Divertissements (1914) was written by Erik Satie to accompany drawings by Charles Martin for the magazine Gazette de Bon Ton a century ago in Paris. The 20 short pieces (along with an ‘unappetising chorale’) are to be performed by Jamie Bolland with an illustrated programme by Alice Dansey-Wright.
John Cage’s Radio Music (1956) was composed using chance operations and written to be performed as a solo or ensemble for 1-8 performers, each at one radio. Tut Vu Vu will present three different versions.
Inspired by Leon Theremin and Henry Cowell's Rhythmicon (1930), David Philp has created a digital polyrhythmic platform enabling live performance of experimental compositions by himself and Jamie Bolland, and Ben Ashton.
18/04/14 @ 19:15

Ian Nagoski returns to Europe for another series of his hypnotic interactive lectures on disappearing music of the 20th Century
'Lecture' may seem too formal a term for something so immersive and transporting as one of Ian's 90-minute explorations of the disappearing music he unearths and its social/cultural roots and routes. Ian shares his love of his findings both in words and by listening to and discussing various carefully chosen shellac gems with you.
Martin Bomber Allen will be playing 78rpm recordings of international music from 1900 -1960.
